Our Profession: Technological Innovations in the Service of Humanity
Novanta Czech Republic develops solutions for integrated operating rooms (OR) in the fields of visualization systems, video processing and wireless imaging. We support minimally invasive surgery by designing new products that enable more efficient video and multimedia management in operating rooms and beyond.
Using our wealth of experience and cutting-edge technologies, we continue to tackle new challenges, maintaining a holistic view of the integrated OR, as well as current and future needs. Exemplary among the innovations is VIMA, our product that enables efficient video management in a plug-and-play way in the integrated OR environment.

To further develop innovation potential in an even more targeted manner, Novanta Czech Republic works closely with Masaryk University in Brno, the second largest university in the country. We also collaborate with other universities in the region, as well as with the non-profit organization Czechitas.

Young yet experienced: Our History
2014
We are still young in years, but already rich in experience. For example, we know what growth and success feel like. The history of Novanta in Brno dates back to 2014.
It all started with an R&D partnership between NDS Surgical Imaging, now part of Novanta, and IBSmm, a local developer of medical devices.
2016
The cooperation proved promising, and Novanta recognized high potential and an excellent workforce in Moravia. The Integrated Center for Corporate Shared Services and the EMEA NDS Service and Medical Devices Research and Development Center were established in early 2016.
To further boost growth in the region, Novanta acquired the local partner, increasing the R&D team to twelve. By the end of 2016, six more specialists had been hired.
2018
By the summer of 2018, more than forty specialists were already working locally – and this number continues to rise.
The R&D team is now one of the pillars of NDS Surgical Imaging and part of the Minimally Invasive Surgery group within Novanta.
2022
New project was partially transferred to Brno. Our businees unit in the US JADAK is developing smart cameras and barcode scanners. We hired first R&D team members – SW/FW developers, Test Engineers and succesfully started this new product development locally.
2023
We continue to grow and currently are more than 120 of us! NPN (Novanta Professionals Network) team was established locally and is organizing lots of event for employees and supporting local communities. Also our coopeation with Czechitas sucessfully continues from 2021 as the company mission is to support women in IT.
Focus on People
Novanta in the Czech Republic combines international expertise with a very diverse team. We all do share a passion for innovation. We are dedicated to helping our customers make a difference in people’s lives and we are focused on creating a respectful, collaborative environment.
Around 170 employees currently work for us, with a good two thirds in Research & Development. They are divided into teams for Hardware, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), Software/Firmware, Test and Verification, DevOps, Cyber Security and Design Assurance. In the Shared Service Center, one third of the team focuses on accounting, payroll, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition and IT Operations & Infrastructure. We are proud of our open, friendly, and respectful atmosphere. We’re also proud of our Novanta Professionals Network Group, which is focusing on supporting local communities and the area where we live and work.

Our Location
Novanta Czech Republic is located in the Campus Science Park in Starý Lískovec, Brno.
The campus is in the southern part of the city and includes five administrative buildings. Our offices are on the 6th floor of Buildings B and C, where our laboratory is located. All buildings, laboratories, and open-plan offices are accessible to people with disabilities. Visitors can enter through Building B and go to the 6th floor.
The site is near the D1 motorway (exit 190) and several public transport stops. You can reach us from the main railway station by tram no. 8 in 15 minutes, from Mendlovo náměstí by trolleybus no. 25 in 11 minutes, and the airport is about 15 minutes away by car. Another advantage of the complex is the excellent parking facilities, which are directly under Buildings B and C and in the surrounding area.

Steps for
technical Positions
- A recruiter will contact you. He or she asks supple mentary questions, reviews your experiences and expectations, as well as the earliest possible starting date and your salary expectations.
- If all elements are a match, we will arrange an ap pointment with you.
- You have a personal conversation with our HR and hiring managers.
- Next is a technical interview with your future team mates, ideally on the same day.
- In exceptional cases, such as for executive or inter national positions, there will be an additional inter view or Skype call with the respective candidates.
Steps for
